Pennsylvania couple wins $100K Maryland Lottery prize with Double Your Money scratch-off
BALTIMORE, MD — A Pennsylvania couple who go by the nickname “‘Bout Time” are celebrating a $100,000 Maryland Lottery win after hitting one of the top prizes on the $10 Double Your Money scratch-off.
The Adams County pair claimed their winnings on August 19 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, saying the money will go directly into their retirement account.
The ticket was purchased at Silver Run Liquors, located at 3957 Littlestown Pike near the Maryland–Pennsylvania state line. The couple, both avid scratch-off players, said they were familiar with the newly launched game and had a hunch that one of the top prizes would be claimed soon.
They described scratching the ticket slowly at home, first revealing the winning numbers, then uncovering the six-digit prize one number at a time. “When I called out that we had a winner, she didn’t believe me,” the husband said, noting they double-checked the ticket at a nearby store to confirm the windfall.
Double Your Money went on sale in mid-July with tens of thousands of prizes and 14 top prizes of $100,000. With this win, 13 top prizes remain.
