QUEENS, NY – A 75-year-old woman was violently robbed and injured in broad daylight on a busy Flushing street Wednesday morning, and now the NYPD is asking for help identifying the man responsible.

The disturbing incident happened at approximately 9:40 a.m. in front of 134-38 Maple Avenue within the 109th Precinct. Police said the senior was walking along the sidewalk when an unidentified man approached her from behind and ripped her purse away—causing her to fall hard to the pavement.

The attacker got away with her identification, $100 in cash, and an iPhone before fleeing southbound on Main Street on foot. The woman was left injured on the sidewalk, suffering pain to her hip, back, and arms.

Emergency services responded quickly and transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

Surveillance footage captured the suspected robber, described as a male last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers. He remains at large.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the suspect to come forward as the investigation continues.
