Man punched to the ground in Midtown street fight as suspect flees on Citi Bike

Manhattan, NY – A 59-year-old man was left hospitalized after a violent confrontation on a Midtown sidewalk turned into a brutal attack, with the suspect fleeing the scene on a Citi Bike before authorities could respond.

The incident unfolded around 7:42 a.m. on Wednesday at the busy intersection of West 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue. According to police, the victim was walking through the area when he got into a dispute with an unidentified man riding a Citi Bike. The argument quickly escalated, and the cyclist punched the man in the head, knocking him to the ground.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was treated for serious head and facial injuries. He was listed in stable condition.

After the assault, the suspect pedaled away southbound on Broadway and has not been seen since. Police say he remains at large.

Investigators are now searching for the suspect, described as a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark pants, white sneakers, sunglasses, and a skull cap.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect and is asking for the public’s help in identifying him. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
