Drunk driver crashes into utility pole shutting down major Ocean Heights roadway

Egg Harbor Township, NJ – A late-night crash involving an impaired driver took out a utility pole and shut down a key stretch of Ocean Heights Avenue, forcing early morning traffic detours and power disruption across parts of Egg Harbor Township.

The crash occurred just after midnight Monday between Steelmanville and Zion Roads, where authorities say the driver lost control and collided with a utility pole, knocking it across the roadway. The impact caused immediate road obstruction and damage to infrastructure, prompting police to shut down the section of Ocean Heights Avenue for public safety.
