Newark, NJ — A touch of autumn is creeping into New Jersey’s late August forecast, with a week of dry, mild weather bringing cooler nights and crisp mornings—offering a break from the recent humidity and a green light for outdoor plans.

Today started with pockets of fog and a slight chance of early-morning showers, but skies are clearing quickly. Sunshine dominates the rest of the day, with highs reaching around 86 degrees. Light winds from the west will keep things comfortable as drier air settles in.

Tonight, clear skies and a light west breeze will help temperatures drop into the upper 50s, marking one of the cooler nights this month.

Tuesday brings sunny skies and slightly cooler conditions, with a high near 81 degrees. Overnight, the temperature dips again to around 57 under partly cloudy skies.

Wednesday will feel even more fall-like, with a high near 76 and mostly sunny conditions. A light northwest breeze and a low of 54 degrees by night will reinforce the cool-down trend.

Thursday may see a bit more cloud cover but remains dry, with a high near 79. The overnight low stays mild around 60 under mostly cloudy skies.

By Friday, conditions improve again with mostly sunny skies and a high around 78. Overnight, skies turn partly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s.
