BRONX, NY – A 19-year-old man was left bleeding on a Bronx sidewalk after a violent slashing attack late Thursday night, and now police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down the man responsible.
The attack happened around 11:20 p.m. in front of 585 East 168th Street, within the 42nd Precinct. According to police, the victim was approached by an unknown male who suddenly slashed him in the face and shoulder with a sharp object before fleeing the scene on foot.
Emergency responders transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and listed in stable condition.
Surveillance footage of the suspect has been released, and the NYPD is urging anyone with information to come forward. The attacker’s direction of flight remains unknown, and no arrests have been made.
Officials have not disclosed a motive, and it remains unclear whether the victim and assailant knew each other. The investigation is ongoing.
