Poodle loses leg after brutal injury but survives thanks to emergency rescue and foster care

Lacey, NJ – A 10-month-old standard poodle named Kimber is recovering in a foster home after surviving a traumatic leg injury so severe that her bone pierced through her skin, forcing veterinarians to amputate the limb to save her life.

According to Associated Humane Societies in Lacey, Kimber was rushed in with a devastating leg fracture believed to be caused by blunt force trauma. The extent of the injury left no option but immediate surgery. Despite efforts to save the leg, the damage was irreparable. Swift intervention stabilized Kimber and ultimately spared her life.
