BROOKLYN, NY – Two suspects impersonating New York City Housing Authority employees made off with a fortune in cash and jewelry after storming a Brooklyn apartment at gunpoint Monday morning, police said.
According to the NYPD, the incident took place around 8:45 a.m. on August 11 at a residential building near Sutter Avenue and Euclid Avenue, within the confines of the 75th Precinct and Police Service Area 2. The two unidentified males reportedly posed as NYCHA workers to gain access to the building.
Once inside, the suspects confronted a 25-year-old female resident, displaying firearms and demanding valuables. The intruders stole approximately $7,000 in cash and jewelry valued at $200,000 before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.
Descriptions of the suspects are limited, but police released the following:
- First suspect: Male, last seen wearing a green sweatshirt and green sweatpants.
- Second suspect: Male, last seen wearing a blue sweater.
Surveillance footage of the suspects has been released, and investigators are asking the public for help identifying them.
