Gunfire rattles Wilkes-Barre neighborhood as suspects seen fleeing Gilligan Street
WILKES-BARRE, PA — Evening quiet was broken Monday when multiple gunshots were reported near Gilligan and Brown Streets, where witnesses said two men were seen running from the area, one of them possibly armed.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., when officers were dispatched to the intersection after a 911 caller reported shots fired. A witness told investigators she heard about three gunshots before spotting the two males sprinting down Gilligan Street. She added that one of them appeared to be holding a firearm.
Officers canvassed the area and recovered evidence confirming gunfire had taken place. No injuries were immediately reported, and no arrests have been made.
