Teen arrested in Manassas after vehicle tampering spree and arson

MANASSAS, VA — A 17-year-old is facing serious charges after investigators say the teen tampered with vehicles in May and later set one on fire in a June incident that unfolded in the middle of the night.

According to Manassas City Police, the case began on May 14 when the suspect was accused of vehicle tampering in the 9400 block of Spice Glade Court. Weeks later, on June 7 around 3:30 a.m., police said the same teen allegedly set a vehicle ablaze.

The investigation included collaboration between Manassas police and fire investigators, who linked the incidents to the same suspect.

The teen was taken into custody on August 20 and is now charged with burning or destroying property, two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle, and destruction of property.
