Manhunt underway after stolen car slams into Bensalem police cruiser in violent assault
Bensalem, PA – Authorities are searching for two unidentified suspects who allegedly used a stolen vehicle to ram a marked police cruiser in an early morning aggravated assault on August 8, leaving a Bensalem officer inside the car at the time of the crash.
The attack occurred at approximately 12:42 a.m. in the area of 1432 Street Road. Investigators say a white 2020 Acura ILX with stolen New Jersey plates (N97NMP) struck an occupied patrol car and then fled the scene. The Acura, which had been reported stolen, was carrying two unidentified male suspects.
Bensalem Police released surveillance photos of the stolen vehicle and are urging the public to help identify the men involved. The car, a 4-door sedan, was last seen heading westbound shortly after the impact.
Detectives are treating the incident as an aggravated assault on law enforcement and say the officer inside the cruiser was injured but is expected to recover. The crash caused significant damage to the vehicle, and police believe it was a deliberate act.
