Severn man arrested after armed disturbance at Candlewick Court home
Severn, MD – A late-night disturbance at a Severn residence ended with the arrest of a 40-year-old man found armed with a handgun, Anne Arundel County Police confirmed Wednesday.
Around 10:10 p.m. on August 26, officers were called to the 8300 block of Candlewick Court for reports of a dispute involving an armed man. When they arrived, officers located Nicholas D. Holmes, who was in possession of a 9mm Ruger handgun.
Investigators determined that Holmes was legally prohibited from owning or carrying firearms. He was taken into custody at the scene and charged with weapons violations.
Police said no injuries were reported during the confrontation. The case remains under review by the Western District’s investigative unit.
