Hillsboro man wins $100K Joker’s Wild prize on Ohio Lottery scratch-off
HILLSBORO, OH – A Hillsboro resident named Bradley is the latest big winner in Ohio after scratching his way to a $100,000 top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s Joker’s Wild game.
Bradley said he initially believed the ticket was only worth a few dollars until he uncovered rows of zeros. “I assumed it was a $5 or $10 winner,” he recalled, before realizing he had won the game’s top prize.
After mandatory state and federal taxes of 28 percent, Bradley will take home $72,000.
The winning ticket was purchased at Rocky Road Sunoco, located at 1111 North Shore Drive in Hillsboro. Bradley said he favors the store because it frequently carries new releases and maintains a wide selection of scratch-off tickets.
This isn’t his first win. He previously claimed three separate $1,000 prizes from $20 and $50 scratch-offs, though this is by far his largest lottery prize.
Joker’s Wild is a $5 scratch-off with a $100,000 top prize. As of August 27, two of those top prizes remain unclaimed.
The Ohio Lottery reports it has contributed more than $33 billion to public education since 1974.
