Fentanyl dealers indicted after overdose death discovered by 4-year-old daughter in Suffolk County

BRENTWOOD, NY – Two men have been indicted on multiple drug charges in connection with the alleged sale of fentanyl-laced pills that caused the fatal overdose of a Brentwood father—whose lifeless body was discovered by his 4-year-old daughter.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced Thursday that Steven Pesantez, 29, of Brentwood, and Isaiah Skees Pierre Louis, 27, of Bay Shore, face a slew of felony charges stemming from an investigation into the February 12, 2025, overdose death.

According to the indictment, the tragedy began when the victim’s young daughter found her father unresponsive in their home. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner later determined the cause of death to be fentanyl intoxication.

As detectives worked to trace the deadly batch of drugs, investigators began surveilling Skees, who was allegedly distributing pressed fentanyl pills in the Amityville area. Undercover officers made three separate purchases from Skees between late February and early March.

In a chilling exchange with the undercover detective following one transaction, Skees allegedly texted: “I don’t get the crazy strong ones no more. My man caught a body off them.” That message was sent just six days after the Brentwood father died, prosecutors say.

Skees was reportedly driven to two of the drug deals by Pesantez. Later, during a July 22 arrest for an unrelated burglary, police executed a search warrant at Pesantez’s home. There, they allegedly discovered blue M30 pills resembling those sold by Skees, along with cocaine and a digital scale.

On August 1, Skees was arrested and found in possession of fentanyl powder, according to authorities. Both men have now been arraigned in Suffolk County Supreme Court.
