Ocean County man held without release on child endangerment and sex crime charges

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A New Jersey man is being held without bail at the Ocean County jail following his arrest on multiple sex crime charges, including criminal sexual contact and child endangerment, stemming from a series of alleged offenses earlier this month.

Avraham Benmoshe was booked into custody on Tuesday and remains behind bars under a no-bail status. Authorities have charged the 44-year-old with lewdness, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal sexual contact in connection with a case that remains under active investigation.

The most serious charge — endangering the welfare of a child — is listed twice under the same case number and graded as a third-degree felony. That charge alone can carry a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
