Jeep driver charged with DUI after late-night Berkeley crash injuring three

Three injured after suspected DUI crash in Berkeley Township

Berkeley Township, NJ — A late-night collision at a busy intersection in Berkeley Township left three people injured and one driver facing serious charges after she allegedly caused the crash while under the influence.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. on Friday, police responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Station Road following reports of a two-vehicle crash. A white 2018 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 51-year-old Erica Noffsinger of Bayville, was attempting to turn left onto Station Road when it collided with a black 2025 Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound on Route 9.

According to investigators, Noffsinger entered the intersection while the Equinox had the right-of-way, resulting in the impact.

During the investigation, officers suspected Noffsinger of driving under the influence. She was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where a blood warrant was executed.

Noffsinger was later charged with the following: Three counts of Assault by Auto, Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Failure to Yield at an Intersection

She was released on summonses after being processed.

The three occupants of the Chevrolet Equinox were also transported to Community Medical Center by Berkeley Township EMS. Their injuries were reported as minor.
