MIDDLETOWN, DE — A 3-year-old Maltese named Kobe was stolen from a backyard in the Willow Grove Mill neighborhood Saturday afternoon, and Middletown police are now asking for the public’s help locating the dog and identifying two individuals seen with it.

At approximately 1:17 p.m., the dog was reported stolen from a private yard. Kobe was initially wearing a yellow collar with a GPS tracker, but police say both were removed shortly after the theft.

Tracking data showed Kobe’s last known location in the 200 block of Ann Drive, located in the Crosslands at the Canal development. Investigators say the dog was later spotted at the HomeGoods store in Middletown.
