Greenwich store sells $3 million winning ticket in CT Lottery scratch-off

Greenwich, CT — A $3 million top prize was claimed from a Connecticut Lottery scratch-off ticket purchased at a local convenience store in Greenwich, according to lottery officials.

The winning “Win Big” ticket was sold at 401 Putnam Inc, located on Putnam Avenue. The lucky player scratched their way to the $3 million prize on Wednesday, August 27.

The CT Lottery confirmed the ticket was a top-prize winner in the popular “Win Big” scratch-off game, which offers multiple chances at million-dollar payouts. It was not immediately disclosed whether the winner has come forward to publicly claim the prize.

401 Putnam Inc, the retailer, will also receive a bonus for selling the high-value ticket.

Connecticut law allows lottery winners to remain anonymous if they claim their prize through a legal trust or entity. Winners have 180 days from the ticket date to claim their prize at the CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.

The “Win Big” game is a $30 scratch ticket with a top prize of $3 million and a range of secondary prizes from $30 up to $50,000. Winning tickets must be verified by lottery officials before the prize is paid.

This is the latest in a string of high-value wins across the state this month, as interest in both instant and draw games continues to rise.
