TRENTON, NJ – Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration is keeping a close watch on liquor licenses tied to Donald Trump’s golf clubs in New Jersey, allowing the properties to serve alcohol under strict temporary conditions while the state continues its review.

The New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) issued a last-minute extension on June 30 for Trump National Golf Clubs in Bedminster and Colts Neck, permitting them to sell alcohol for six more months. The clubs’ licenses have been under review since Trump was convicted last year in New York on 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Under state law, individuals convicted of crimes involving “moral turpitude” cannot hold liquor licenses. While the review is ongoing, the temporary permits require the clubs to place all alcohol profits in a separate account and bar Trump or other members of the license-holding LLCs from receiving any financial benefit from those sales.

The conditional approval ensures operations at the clubs continue during the busy summer season, but the ABC has made clear that the arrangement does not signal a final decision. The licenses remain under active investigation.
