22-year-old man found dead in Suitland as police launch investigation

SUITLAND, MD – A 22-year-old man was found dead from traumatic injuries Monday evening outside a residential building in Suitland, prompting a death investigation by the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officers responded to the 2400 block of Darel Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m., where they discovered Saunders Mitchell of Suitland lying outside with visible trauma. Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released details regarding the nature of the trauma or the events leading up to Mitchell’s death. Investigators are working to establish a timeline and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
