Lucky ticket sold in Ronkonkoma nets nearly $29K TAKE 5 jackpot

RONKONKOMA, NY – A trip to a local convenience store paid off big for one TAKE 5 player who won a $28,885.50 top prize in the New York Lottery’s Evening drawing on Friday.

The winning ticket was sold at Getty Mart, located at 440 Hawkins Ave. in Ronkonkoma, where one customer matched all five numbers drawn in the Aug. 31 TAKE 5 Evening drawing. The game allows players to select five numbers from 1 to 39 and holds two drawings daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The winner has up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.

All licensed lottery retailers, including Getty Mart, are authorized to validate winning tickets up to certain prize levels. For larger prizes, winners may need to claim at a regional lottery customer service center.
