Man shot and killed in Brentwood neighborhood identified as 36-year-old DC resident
WASHINGTON, DC – A 36-year-old man has died following a shooting in the Brentwood neighborhood of Northeast Washington, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
On Monday, September 1, around 4:16 p.m., Fifth District officers were called to the 2300 block of 14th Street NE for reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found an adult male unconscious but still breathing with multiple gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital, where despite emergency efforts he was pronounced dead. Police later identified him as Francois Adkins of Northwest, DC.
Detectives have not released information on possible suspects or a motive. The case remains under investigation.
