Student busted with loaded gun inside Parkside High School

Student arrested after loaded handgun found at Parkside High School

SALISBURY, MD – An 18-year-old student was taken into custody Wednesday morning after a loaded handgun was discovered in his possession at Parkside High School, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 9:32 a.m., a school resource officer confronted Devon Rinvil Thelusma in the school’s main office after receiving information that he may have been armed. During the investigation, the officer located a loaded 9mm handgun and a small amount of suspected marijuana on the student.

Thelusma was immediately detained and transported to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Criminal charges are pending.

Officials said there are no ongoing threats to students or staff and emphasized that maintaining school safety remains their top priority.
