Utica, NY – A 41-year-old Utica man was arrested Wednesday after police say he shoved a victim through a glass door during an argument last month, despite being under a court order to stay away.
Utica Police said the incident happened on Aug. 19 on Van Vorst Avenue, when Cory Wood allegedly pushed the victim through a glass door, leaving him with several head lacerations. The suspect fled before officers arrived.
Investigators later confirmed the victim had an active Stay Away Order of Protection against Wood, and charges were submitted for a warrant.
On Sept. 3, members of the department’s Warrants Unit located Wood on Roberts Street and arrested him without incident. He was booked at Utica Police Department headquarters.
Wood faces charges of criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal trespass in the second degree, and assault in the third degree.
