Arrest made in February Union Station homicide that left teen dead
Washington, DC – Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenager at Union Station earlier this year.
On February 10 at about 4:37 p.m., Amtrak Police reported hearing gunfire near the bus waiting area at Union Station on Massachusetts Avenue NE. First District officers responded and found 18-year-old Wayne McDaniel of Northwest DC near the escalators to the parking garage. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene by DC Fire and EMS.
On September 3, Metropolitan Police arrested Faizon Mason of Northeast DC pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed (Gun).
The case remains under active investigation.
