Teen charged in Chicago string of armed robberies, police say

Chicago, IL – A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of armed robberies that terrorized men in Logan Square over the summer, police announced.

The juvenile offender was taken into custody Thursday in the 2000 block of North Kedzie. Detectives linked him to four robberies that occurred in July and August within the 14th District.

According to investigators, the incidents included:

  • July 18 – A 32-year-old man robbed in the 2000 block of North Kedzie
  • July 24 – A 40-year-old man robbed in the same block of North Kedzie
  • July 29 – A 24-year-old man robbed in the 2000 block of North Sawyer
  • August 6 – A 43-year-old man robbed in the same block of North Sawyer

The teen now faces two felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm and two felony counts of robbery.

Police said he was charged after being identified as one of the offenders but did not release further details.
