Brooklyn Home Invader Sexually Assaulted Sleeping Woman, Stole Her Pajamas

Brooklyn, NY – A 71-year-old woman was hospitalized after an intruder broke into her East New York home early Saturday morning, assaulted her, and fled with her clothing, police said.

The incident happened around 2:15 a.m. on August 30 in the area of Berriman Street and Liberty Avenue. Investigators said the unidentified man entered the residence through a kitchen window while the victim was asleep. The suspect allegedly choked her, touched her inappropriately, and took her pajama pants before running off.

The attacker fled southbound on Atkins Avenue and remains at large. The victim was taken by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

Police described the suspect as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a dark T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and black-and-white sneakers.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the NYPD.
