23-year-old shot and killed in Edinburg alley

EDINBURG, TX – Edinburg Police were called out to the 3800 block of Sarah Evans just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021 in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound lying dead in an alleyway. The man has been identified as 23-year-old Anthony Maldonado. Witnesses told investigators they heard several gunshots and then saw a black car, possibly an older model Chevy Malibu, speeding from the area turning south on MonMack Rd.

This incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is being urged to call Edinburg Police at (956) 289-7700.
