Man arrested in fatal 5th Street shooting in Baltimore’s Southern District
BALTIMORE, MD — A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Marlon Pugh, who was gunned down on September 30 in the city’s Southern District.
According to Baltimore Police, homicide detectives arrested Devin Ash at his residence on October 1 without incident. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged.

The original shooting occurred at approximately 3:27 p.m. in the 3700 block of 5th Street. Officers responded to the area for a reported shooting and found a 35-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Marlon Pugh, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The arrest came less than 24 hours after the shooting. Officials have not disclosed a motive or whether Ash and Pugh knew one another. The investigation remains ongoing.
