Annapolis player wins $50K Powerball prize as jackpot climbs to $629 million

Annapolis, MD – One lucky Maryland Powerball player is holding a $50,000 winning ticket after matching four white balls and the red Powerball in Wednesday night’s drawing — just one number short of the game’s massive jackpot, which has now surged to $629 million.

The winning ticket, sold at the Safeway located at 1781 Forest Drive in Annapolis, matched the numbers 10, 31, 49, 51, and 68, with the red Powerball number 19. The win marks a third-tier prize and adds to a growing list of unclaimed big-money tickets in Maryland.

While no one matched all six numbers in the multi-state game, another player in New Jersey matched all five white balls to win a $1 million second-tier prize. With no jackpot winner, the top prize for Saturday’s drawing rises to an estimated $629 million, with a lump sum cash option of $294.5 million.

Maryland Lottery officials reported that 14,779 players in the state won prizes in Wednesday’s drawing, ranging from $4 to $100. The Annapolis ticket becomes one of eight significant Powerball prizes in Maryland that remain unclaimed and are valued at $50,000 or more.
