Middletown, PA – A Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball ticket worth $100,000 is nearing its expiration date. Sold in Cumberland County for the drawing on Monday, August 14, 2023, the winning ticket remains unclaimed and will expire soon.
The ticket was purchased at Giant Food Stores, located at 255 South Spring Garden St. in Carlisle. It matched four white balls—32, 34, 37, 39, 47—and the red Powerball 3. Thanks to the $1 Power Play option, which doubled the prize, the ticket is worth $100,000, less applicable withholding. Without the Power Play, the prize would have been $50,000.
Winners must file a claim by Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Claims can be filed by mail or at a Pennsylvania Lottery Area Office. The lottery urges winners to sign the back of their ticket, contact the lottery at 1-800-692-7481, and file a claim in person at one of the Lottery’s seven area offices, open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments are recommended, and PA Lottery Headquarters in Middletown remains closed to visitors.
By law, unclaimed prizes revert to the Lottery Fund, which supports programs for older Pennsylvanians. While some lotteries give a 90 or 180-day window for prize claims, the Pennsylvania Lottery allows up to a year from the drawing date for claims to be made.
