DOVER TOWNSHIP, PA – The Northern York County Regional Police Department is currently investigating a severe case of animal abuse that occurred on the evening of July 10, 2024, in the 2600 block of Oakland Rd.
A 19-year-old woman reported to the police that her father, Aston Aguilera, fatally beat their family dog, a 5-year-old female Pit Bull named Bali, with a baseball bat. The incident was discovered when she heard unusual noises coming from the basement around 9:30 PM after returning from work with her father.
Upon investigating, she found Bali severely injured and witnessed her father striking the dog multiple times. She was then compelled to assist in cleaning the scene and disposing of the dog’s body in a nearby field. Police were able to recover Bali’s body, which was returned to the family for cremation.
Aston Aguilera has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a felony. He was arraigned with bail set at $75,000, which he posted.
