Cell Phone Snatched in Bold D.C. Robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Authorities are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect involved in a robbery in Northwest D.C. last month.

On July 16, at approximately 10:35 p.m., a suspect approached a victim in the 1000 block of U Street, Northwest, and snatched the victim’s cell phone before fleeing the scene. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, which are available for public viewing.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is encouraged to avoid confrontation and contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
