Early Morning Attack in Northwest D.C. Leaves Suspect on the Run

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A suspect in an aggravated assault that occurred last month in Northwest Washington remains at large as investigators seek the public’s help in identifying the individual.

The incident took place in the early morning hours of July 13, when a large group attacked three victims in the 1100 block of U Street, Northwest. The assault only stopped when bystanders intervened, allowing the victims to escape. All three were taken to a local hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS for treatment.

A surveillance camera captured one of the suspects involved in the assault, and police have released the image in hopes of obtaining more information.

Anyone identifying the suspect or knowing the incident is urged to contact law enforcement at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
