PHILADELPHIA — A Bucks County man pleaded guilty Tuesday to trafficking counterfeit opioid pills advertised for use in films or music videos, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Robert Davis, 36, of Bensalem, admitted to selling counterfeit pills through his website, rcproppill, from 2015 to 2019. While the pills contained no controlled substances, they mimicked the appearance and trademarks of commonly abused opioids like oxycodone and hydrocodone, as well as the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, authorities said.
Prosecutors allege Davis’s buyers often made repeat purchases, suggesting the fake pills were being used in drug dealing rather than for the advertised purpose of film props. Davis was charged with three counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods in a superseding indictment issued in May 2023.
Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on December 20 and faces a maximum possible sentence of 10 years in prison for each count, along with three years of supervised release.
