Carroll County 7-Eleven sells winning Powerball ticket worth $50K

by Local News Report

UNION BRIDGE, MD — A Carroll County lottery player is celebrating a $50,000 Powerball win after purchasing a $2 quick-pick ticket for the Jan. 25 drawing.

The longtime player, who goes by the nickname “V,” has been playing for years and started buying tickets more regularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of her routine, she stopped at the 7-Eleven on South Main Street in Union Bridge to purchase her usual mix of Powerball, Mega Millions, and Multi-Match tickets.

When scanning her tickets on a later visit, she was stunned to see an unexpected message revealing her $50,000 third-tier prize. Doubting her luck, she scanned the ticket twice to confirm the win.

Keeping a low profile, she has only shared the news with close family members. The winnings will go toward long-awaited kitchen renovations and additional home improvements.
