WASHINGTON, D.C. — A midnight shooting in Southeast Washington sent three women to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, prompting an ongoing investigation by Sixth District detectives.

Officers responded to a local hospital around 12:00 a.m. after receiving reports that three adult females had arrived with gunshot wounds. Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting took place in the area of East Capitol Street and Benning Road.

Police have not released any information about a suspect or motive as of late Sunday night.

Sixth District detectives leading investigation into triple shooting

All three victims are currently receiving medical treatment. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
