PHILADELPHIA – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 61-year-old woman who was last seen leaving her South Philadelphia home on Wednesday morning.

Selena Murrell was reported missing after she was last seen at approximately 9:42 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, leaving her residence on the 1200 block of South 26th Street, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Police describe Murrell as a Black female, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple bonnet, a black Guess puffer jacket, black and white Adidas sweatpants, and silver and gray Asics sneakers.

Authorities say she has distinctive tattoos, including stars behind her right ear and the name “Sameerah” on her right forearm. Investigators have classified her as a missing endangered person due to concerns for her well-being.

“Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Selena Murrell is urged to contact South Detectives at 215-686-3013,” police said.

Murrell has not been seen or heard from since she left her residence, and police have not released any further details regarding the circumstances of her disappearance.
