Giant Eagle shopper scores $100K Powerball win in Allegheny County
MCCANDLESS, PA – A Giant Eagle customer in Allegheny County is $100,000 richer after hitting big in Saturday’s massive Powerball drawing, matching numbers just one shy of the jackpot and doubling the prize with the Power Play add-on.
The winning ticket was sold at Giant Eagle, located at 9805 McKnight Road in McCandless Township. It matched four white balls and the red Powerball, good for a $50,000 third-tier prize — then doubled to $100,000 thanks to the Power Play multiplier of 2X.
The winning numbers from Saturday’s historic drawing were 11, 23, 44, 61, 62, with a red Powerball of 17.
This Giant Eagle location was one of three retailers in Pennsylvania to sell $100,000 Power Play winners ahead of the jackpot being hit in Missouri and Texas.
The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The ticket has not yet been claimed, and officials encourage players to sign the back immediately and file a claim within one year of the drawing date.
