Surveillance video shows suspect in break-in
WASHINGTON, DC – More than two weeks after someone smashed through the front door of an E Street business in Northwest DC and fled with property, police are asking the public to help identify the suspect captured on surveillance cameras.
The burglary occurred just after 2 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 600 block of E Street NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said the suspect destroyed the establishment’s front door to get inside, took property and then fled.
The department did not identify the business or disclose what was taken.
First District officers responded to the establishment at approximately 9:16 a.m. after the burglary was reported.
Surveillance cameras captured the suspect, and MPD released video while seeking information that could lead to an identification.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the burglary is asked not to take action. Information can be provided to police at (202) 727-9099 or by texting the department’s tip line at 50411.
MPD offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of a person or people responsible for a crime committed in the District.
