CROCKETT, TEXAS – The people of Walmart have a new life member. Rebecca Lanette Taylor, 49, was charged for attempting to purchase the baby of mom while waiting on the checkout line at the Crockett, Texas Walmart.
Police said Taylor offered a mom with her two children $250,000 to buy her younger child. After refusing the offer to sell her child, Taylor increased the payout to $500,000 and told the mother to take the offer or she will just take the baby.
After escaping from Taylor’s presence, the mom called police who arrested Taylor and charged her with felony purchase and sale of a child. Instead of spending $500,000, she eventually ended up paying $50,000 for bail.
