Police investigating violent robbery on NYC subway train

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying six individuals connected to a violent robbery that took place on a southbound 1 train near 7th Avenue and West 34th Street.

The incident occurred on Sunday, at approximately 8:00 pm. According to the police, the suspects approached a 39-year-old male victim and a 40-year-old female victim, demanding their possessions.

The male suspects brandished a kitchen knife and switchblade, taking the male victim’s shoes, cellphone, and wallet. The female suspects demanded the female victim’s cellphone, punched her multiple times in the face, and attempted to remove her cellphone but were unsuccessful.

The suspects fled the train at the 28th Street station, taking the male victim’s wallet and cellphone. The female victim was treated at the scene for pain to her face. The NYPD urges anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline or submit tips online.
