Tragedy Strikes Again: Four Shot One Dead At D.C. Funeral For Gunshot Victim

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department is requesting help identifying a vehicle related to a shooting yesterday outside of a funeral home at the 4000 block of Benning Road in Northeast D.C.

Shortly after 12 pm, police arrived at Stewarts Funeral Home to investigate a report of a shooting. Officers found two adult male and two adult female shooting victims. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victims were critically injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. 29-year-old Terrell Coghill of D.C. was identified as the victim.

The funeral was for 24-year-old Stephon Carroll. Carroll was shot to death late last month in Southeast D.C.

A nearby surveillance camera captured the suspects’ vehicle. Police describe the suspects’ vehicle as “a white Lexus IS350, with possible damage to the bottom of the front passenger door.”
