Pittsburgh Man Arrested for Assault and Burglary After Fleeing Accident Scene

PITTSBURGH, PA – Andrew Nelson, a 43-year-old Pittsburgh resident, was arrested on Thursday by the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit on April 29 after a series of incidents that began with a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Frankstown Ave. and Brushton Ave. in Homewood.

Nelson reportedly fled the accident scene on foot and illegally entered a nearby residence, where he assaulted a 59-year-old man.

The victim suffered various injuries and was listed in critical condition. Nelson is charged with Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Criminal Attempt Burglary, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault while DUI, DUI, and numerous PAVC violations.
