Toms River, NJ – The Township Council of Toms River has recently passed an ordinance to amend and supplement Section 477-79, Schedule XXI (speed limits) of Chapter 477 (vehicles and traffic) of the township code. The ordinance aims to enhance road safety by reducing speed limits on the following roads:

  1. Cardinal Drive: The speed limit will be lowered from 35 mph to 25 mph for the entire length of the road.
  2. South Shore Drive: The speed limit will be lowered from 35 mph to 25 mph for the entire length of the road.
  3. Colonial Drive: The speed limit will be lowered from 30 mph to 25 mph for the entire length of the road.
  4. Continental Drive: The speed limit will be lowered from 30 mph to 25 mph for the entire length of the road.
  5. Schencks Mill Line Road: The speed limit will be lowered from 45 mph to 25 mph, specifically from Hooper Avenue to the northerly terminus.

These amendments to the speed limits have been implemented with the goal of improving road safety and reducing potential risks for motorists and pedestrians.
