Aggressive coyotes force temporary closure of New Jersey park

Westfield, NJ – In an abundance of caution, Brightwood Park has been closed until further notice following multiple reports of aggressive coyote behavior.

The Westfield Police Department and the Westfield Regional Health Department are actively investigating the situation, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Friends of Brightwood Park, a local non-profit corporation.

It is important to note that no injuries have been reported thus far.

To aid in the investigation, residents are urged to promptly report any coyote sightings to the Westfield Police Department. This information will contribute to the ongoing efforts to assess the situation and take appropriate measures to ensure public safety.
