RANDOLPH, NJ – The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office in conjunction with the Randolph Police Department will be implementing a Driving While Intoxicated checkpoint in Randolph over the weekend of July 28-30, as announced by Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Randolph Police Chief Will Harzula.
The checkpoint is part of a series funded by grants received from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
These funds enable the Prosecutor’s Office to work with municipal police departments throughout Morris County to conduct such checkpoints. The current grant is in effect until September.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is committed to preventing impaired driving, which continues to be a significant problem, exacerbated now by the rising instances of distracted driving due to cell phone use.
Through such proactive measures and with advance public notice, the department aims to deter such behavior and ensure the safety of the public.
