Standoff Ends Peacefully in McKeesport After Shots Fired

MCKEESPORT, PA – A suspect is in custody after an hours-long standoff involving multiple gunshots and a barricade situation on Pirl Street.

At approximately 7:30 pm, McKeesport Police responded to a shot spotter notification in the 1200 block of Pirl Street, finding a female victim with multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence.

Additional shots were fired at responding officers, who then established a perimeter and safely transported the victim to a local hospital. Her condition remains undisclosed but was reported as conscious and alert at the scene.

Allegheny County Police Department’s SWAT team and Homicide Unit were called to assist after it was determined that the suspect was barricaded inside the home with an adult family member. The suspect surrendered peacefully just before 3:00 am.

The incident is now under investigation, and charges are pending.
