GLEN BURNIE, MD – On the afternoon of October 6, around 2:15 p.m., officials at Glen Burnie High School discovered an unattended backpack with a handgun inside one of the classrooms.

Upon receiving the information, a school resource officer, alongside school administrators, promptly secured the bag and moved it to an administrative office for further examination. The weapon, identified as a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun, was confiscated.

After an in-depth investigation, the school’s administrative team, in collaboration with the school resource officer, pinpointed the owner of the backpack.
