Suspect Brandishes Fork During Cellphone Snatching at Halsey Street Station

BROOKLYN, NY – A 21-year-old woman fell victim to a cellphone snatching incident at Halsey Street station on Saturday. The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 PM when the victim, exiting a northbound J train, had her phone forcibly taken.

As she attempted to retrieve her phone, the assailant menaced her with a fork and made an unintelligible statement before fleeing the scene. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

Police are searching for a male suspect, around 50 years old, 6’2″ tall, weighing 180 pounds, with a dark complexion and gray facial hair. His attire included a blue baseball hat, a blue hooded jacket with stripes, a lanyard with a card, blue pants, and gray sneakers.

Authorities have obtained media from the Halsey Street station to aid in identifying the suspect. They urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
